Update on Practice and Tournaments

Practice on Sunday, Jan 31, is cancelled.

Tournament on February 6 has some changes. The 13's team is still playing as of right now, but the 12's team will not be able to play. No one's fault, just the weather! Due to weather, 4 courts cannot be used because of make-up basketball games and wrestling duals taking place. If more courts are found that can be used, we can play. As of right now, we are not playing. I am very sorry to the 12's team, but the weather is not on our side!

Practice and Tournament Update

Practice on Wednesday, January 20th, will be from 5:30-7:00 pm for the 12-under team. 13-under team will practice at usual time. 12-under team will also practice on Saturday from 10:00am-12:00pm. No practice on Sunday for either team.

13-under team will play Saturday at 9:20 am at Sparta High School. A tournament schedule will be handed out at practice on Wednesday. Unfortunately, the 12-under team did not get into the tournament due to registration problems out of my control and not enough teams entered to make multiple pools. A new tournament will be picked on Wednesday at practice.

Don't forget we are scrimmaging Thursday at Messenger College in Joplin. Be there at 5:00. Uniforms will be handed out on Wednesday and need to be worn for the scrimmage.

Practice Times

Both teams will now have the same practice time. Practice will be Wednesday night from 7:30-9:00 pm and Sunday from 4:00-5:30 pm @ Neosho Middle School.

Scrimmage

Both teams will scrimmage on Thursday, January 21st, at Messenger College in Joplin. The scrimmage will last from 5:15-7:00. Please be there by 5:00. When you are waiting to play, you will practice officiating and keeping score as well. Please bring your own whistle and pencil.

I will post a payment schedule as soon as I find out how much the tournaments will cost us! I do know that $100 will be required by each player prior to the first tournament date!

January 9 - UPDATED - PLEASE READ

There is a MANDATORY referee and scorekeeping clinic that was originally scheduled to be at Messenger College at 9:00. This clinic has changed due to frigid temps and weather related reasons. It will still take place on Saturday, but has been changed to St. Pauls Methodist Church at 2423 W. 26th St. in Joplin. It will start at 10:00 am and should be done by 2:00 pm. All players MUST attend this clinci! This is something HOA requires!

Main Street exit off of I-44 - go north to 26th then west on 26th to church - park in west parking lot

We had planned on scrimmaging afterwards but we are not going to be able to.

Tournament Schedule 13-under Team

Here are the tournament dates for the 13-under team. We are not attending the January 16 tournament due to the weather and lack of practice time to prepare. If you cannot attend a date listed below, please let me know. If several players cannot attend, we will try to change the date. If 1-2 players cannot attend, the team will still attend the tournament.

January 23 - Springfield Winterfest
February 6 - Club Bear Classic
February 20 - Club Bear Winterblast
March 6 - Springfield Challenge
March 20 - Club Bear Lauren T. Wheeler Memorial

**On March 13 there is a tournament in Joplin. If you would like to enter it as well since it is close, let me know ASAP! This could replace the April 3 Joplin tournament we have as a possibility of going to.

Tournament Schedule 12-under Team

Not everyone turned in a paper indicating what tournament dates did or did not work for them. I used what had gotten turned in to me and picked the dates the MAJORITY could attend, plus I added the Joplin tournament. If a date does not work for you, please let me know. If several players cannot attend a certain tournament, we will make some changes. If only 1-2 have to miss, the rest of the team will attend the tournament.

February 20 - Club Bear Tournament
February 27 - Springfield Stars Spectacular
March 6 - Carthage Spring Championship
March 13 - Joplin Junior Volleyfest

Right now we have 4 tournaments. There are other tournaments we could attend after March 13. We can decide this at a later date! I think this is a good schedule for a first year team! Go get 'em girls!!

Update on Uniforms and Practice Times

Uniforms should be here any day! We had to change the color from raspberry to scarlet in order to get everything we wanted. We got an upgrade on spandex and bags as well!

Practice times will be as follows at the middle school:

Wednesday Nights
6:00-7:30 12-under team
7:30-9:00 13-under team

Sundays
4:00-5:30 both teams

We WILL NOT practice on Sundays following a Saturday tournament!
PLEASE USE THE SOUTH DOOR TO ENTER AND LEAVE THE GYM ON SUNDAY PRACTICES!! YOU CAN USE MAIN DOORS ON WEDNESDAYS!
